The Electronics & Communication Engineering involves the transmission of information across channels such as a coax cable, optical fiber or free space.
Head of the Department
Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Kumar Singh is the Head of the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering. He has been completed his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electronics Engineering from Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University (IT BHU), Varanasi since 1999. He is having more than 16 years of teaching experience. He has published 22 research papers in National/International Journals/conferences. His areas of interest are Optical Communication, Microwave Engineering, Antennas and Wireless Systems.
It aims to deepen the knowledge and skills of the students on the basic concepts and theories that will equip them in their professional work involving analysis, systems implementation, operation, production, and maintenance of the various applications in the field of Electronics and Communications Engineering. Students can work on designing equipment such as routers, switches, multiplexers and electronic switching systems, copper telephone facilities and fiber optics.
The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering established in the year of 2000 having highly qualified and well experienced faculty members who are teaching and training to students for global acceptance. The Department offers an under graduate (B.Tech.) course in Electronics & Communication Engineering with intake 60 and post graduate (M.Tech.) course in Electronics & Communication Engineering with intake 18. Students are also admitted in Second Year, B.Tech. - Electronics & Communication Engineering through lateral entry.
The Department organizes guest lectures by Professors/Scientists from IITs Delhi and Roorkee/Industries for beneficial of students. Industrial visits are also organized for industrial exposures to enhance their knowledge. Extra activities like Sports, Cultural activities and Technical activities are also organized so that students can participate in their interested activities.
This branch of engineering develops everyday devices such as transistors, integrated circuits and printed circuit boards (PCBs) which can be used in computers, MP3 players, cell phones, television etc. The discipline deals with electronic devices and software interfaces. The applications are far reaching, right from the indoors of the house to industries. The tasks of the Electronics and Communication engineers are to direct, control and test produce processes a well as to ensure safety, installation and functioning of the various mechanisms.
The discipline integrates knowledge based on digital electronics and logic design, fundamentals of communication engineering, electronic circuits, signals and systems, power electronics, applied electromagnetic theory, integrated circuits, VLSI, control systems and computer architecture.
Electronics & Communication Engineering deals with the electronic devices, circuits, communication equipments like transmitter, receiver, integrated circuits (IC). It also deals with basic electronics, analog and digital transmission & reception of data, voice and video (Example AM, FM, DTH), microprocessors, satellite communication, microwave engineering, antennae and wave progression.
After completing a B. Tech. students can opt for M. Tech/MS in various subjects such as Fiber Optics and Light waves, Microelectronics & V L S I Design, RF and Microwaves, Telecommunication Systems, Visual Information and Embedded Systems.
This branch offers plenty of job opportunities for the engineers. They are mostly employed by electronic and communication industry. The other industries which offer placement to the students include IT, consumer electronics, power transmission companies, computer applications, aviation, telecommunication, electronic media and manufacturing companies.
- AICTE sponsored Staff Development Programmed (SDP) on “Application of EDA Tools in Emerging Engineering Fields” from 04-17 July 2011 organized by Dept. of ECE, Radha Govind Engineering College Meerut.
- 100% Placement in 2017-18.
- Student of M.Tech, Bharti Kaushik (2015-16) published a review paper on, “Analytical Review on Different Gain Improvement Techniques in Microstrip Patch Antenna” in International Journal of Scientific and Engineering Research(IJSER) - (ISSN 2229-5518) under the guidance of Mr. Manish Jaiswal.
- Students of final year, Mr. Shubham Singh, Mr. Soumil Srivastava & Mr. Lakshya verma successfully designed “an aperture coupled microstrip antenna using HFSS”.
- One of the M.Tech students Ms. Preeti Mishra submitted her project thesis on the topic of “Design and Analysis of ‘S’ Shaped Microstrip Patch Antenna using HFSS for Broadband Applications” to AKTU for M.Tech Dissertation.

This lab deals with the study of analog(Principle of communication) and digital communication systems. Experiments based on amplitude modulation, double side band modulation, single side band modulation, frequency modulation are performed. Various parameters of receiver like sensitivity, selectivity & fidelity are tested. Experiments of Pulse Amplitude Modulation (PAM), Pulse Width Modulation (PWM), Pulse Position Modulation (PPM), Pulse Code Modulation (PCM), Delta modulation (DM) & adaptive delta modulation (ADM) are performed. Advanced digital common training KITS are available for performing experiments based on digital modulation techniques ASK, PSK & FSK and their demodulation using Parity Generator, Error Detection & Correction, PLL-565.

Experiments based on the verification of basic and advanced DSP are done in this lab. Advanced DSP starter kits are available for performing the experiments, along with the simulation using MATLAB and its various toolboxes.

The PCB lab has special machines like PCB coating machine, etching machine, and UV light producer, Baking Oven and drilling Facility to produce single side PCBs. Using these machines students can design PCBs for their projects.
This lab deals with 8085 and 8086 experimental set-up to perform various experiments. The lab offers performing & interfacing facilities to control peripherals like stepper motor, traffic lights controller, and temperature controller. ADC and DAC and interfacing cards are provided such as 8251, 8253, 8255, 8257, 8279, 8155, and 61160. The kits and cards available in this lab are: 8085 microprocessor kits and advanced microprocessor kits with LCD display.
This lab provides the concepts of basic electronics, solid state devices & circuits and linear IC (OPAMP, 741 & 555) applications. A series of experiments relating to diode and transistor as an amplifier, push-pull amplifiers, Darlington amplifiers, negative feedback amplifiers and Wein-bridge oscillators are performed.
In the same series, experiments based on times IC 555, IC 741 such as active filters (low pass, high pass, land pass), instrumentation amplifiers, stable a mono-stable multi-vibrators are performed. The lab also has equipment like CROs, function generators, multimeters, power supplies, trainer boards of RC coupled amplifiers, Analog IC tester, Wein-bridge oscillator, & LCR meter.
This lab deals with measurement on microwave benches of X-band & C-band and characteristics of Reflex Klystron Tube and Gunn diode. Experiments based on measurements of frequency and wavelength, VSWR, impedance, radiation pattern insertion loss, directivity, gain and bandwidth of various antennas are performed. In addition to this design experiments based on common hardware design like rectangular and circular wave guides, frequency meters, directional coupler, micro-strip couplers, phase shifters, E, H band attenuators, reflex Klystron tube, Gunn oscillators, isolator, VSWR meters, power supplies, CROs and multimeters are also performed In this lab we have all the equipment which are required for measuring the antenna parameters like radiation pattern, gain, VSWR, Reflection Coefficient etc.
With the increasing growth in the field of Electronics & Communications there is a need for computer aided design and simulation of various circuits. In this lab, different software is available with regular features .Experiments based on Transistor analysis, A.C. and D.C. Transient analysis, VHDL simulation are performed in this lab.
